A Voice of the People - Evolved

This is my most recent painting. It is the jewel in my crown as far as my art goes; it was chosen to be part of the "Beyond the Rhythm" Art Exhibit at the Royal Ontario Art museum. I am so proud of this piece. This is a representation of the various musical genres that have shaped and defined the sounds of the African Diaspora. These have evolved through time to lend a voice to our people

Mango Bowl

A piece commissioned by a client who wanted an art piece for her new home

Sunset

This is a replica of a painting I did for an art auction, Power of Expression. It sold but I loved it so much, I painted one for myself.

Baiana Regal

I absolutely love the beauty of the Baianas or "Aunties" of Brazil. They are always dresses in stunning white dresses and a lot of jewelry. The origins are from slavery in Brazil, they looked after their masters' children sometimes sold delicacies to assist with the finances. After slavery, they did this for themselves, and today they are a main fixture of Brazillian (Bahian) culture. They still sell Bahian (Afro-Brazillian) food in traditional costume.

Island Beauty

This shows the beauty and mystic of the Caribbean.

Contemplation

I painted this for my enjoyment as well. I just wanted something to show the beautiful colors of the Caribbean as I envision it.

Unleashed

This is a piece I did for myself. It is titled Unleashed to represent an escape from the ties that bind. It was eventually used as a logo for a greeting card company.

Hair We Stand

A showcase of our individual styles in relation to our natural hair textures

Unique

This was an homage to the beauty of our hair

Serendipity

This piece is part of the miniature series. It is my favorite one which I had always wanted to enlarge.

Out Loud

This is from a series of miniature pieces. They each measure 5x7
